President
What do our officers actually do?
Current President-Sabrina Lamance
Vice President
Current Vice President- Kyle Zheng
A president is in charge of creating agendas for our club meetings and board meetings. They organize and host events that the club is in charge of such as DCM and service events. They are responsible for delegating tasks to other officers and should be informed of upcoming events. The president should be updating and reminding the club of meetings, service events and fundraisers. If a president is not full-filling their duties than the club as a whole will suffer so it is important to elect a president that you know will be sure to have the best interest in the club.
Secretary
Current Secretary-Eden Hazlewood
A secretary is of the utmost importance to a club. Some people think that the job is only taking notes during meetings but there is much more when being a Key Club secretary. Being a secretary means keeping track of all the club hours and the individual hours which in turn allows recognition for the club as a whole and for individual recognition. Communication is key for this role as with any, however the secretary must have good communication with the president to ensure the correct information is logged into the MRF. The best part of being a secretary is watching your club grow and become more successful, and forming strong bonds with your fellow officers and members.
Webmaster
Current Webmaster- Julianna Sok
The job of the webmaster is the creation and maintenance of the school key club’s website. This is an elected position within the school’s Key Club and as an officer position, it puts the webmaster in a position of leadership. The only job of the webmaster is, as its name suggests, to maintain an existing website or create a new one. Throughout the term, they would update the club's website to ensure that members of the club and people interested about Key Club are updated about events. If they needed help for any reason, the Vice President could help out to a certain extent.
Historian
Current Historian- Alvi Sreya
A historian's job is to collect pictures and news clippings about the club and its members. As historian, I help manage our club's social media account. I create posters for any upcoming events that Key Club may have. Being the historian, I am tasked with notifying the Key Club members of important events through the posters. I also create flyers and think of different ways to advertise our events. This job is truly a valuable officer position in the club because without it, people outside the officer board would not know what upcoming events or fundraisers the club is involved in.
A vice president is in charge of any officer positions that are not being full-filled. If the club does not have a secretary, webmaster or news editor than your vice president must full-fill these roles and any other tasks that the president assigns. If the president is unable to do something than it is the vice president's responsibility to be in charged of the club. Initially, the roles of a president is the same for the vice president so the vice president should try to help the president as much as possible. It is possible for the club to have more than one vice president but it must be agreed upon by the advisers and officer board.
Treasurer
Current Treasurer-Nicole Carter
A Treasurer’s main objective is to maintain the financial integrity of the club. As the treasurer, I am entrusted with keeping track of budgets, records, dues and financial records. I need to be organized, proactive and persistent, as well as communicative and consistent. During the first few months of the school year, I am primarily busy with collecting dues of each member and submitting them to the Membership Update Center. Later in the year, I mainly help organize fundraisers and maintain a record of budgets, expenses, and the club account balance. I personally enjoy the experience that I’ve been given, and the interactive activities that we organize.
News Editor
Current News Editor- Aaron Romo
The job of the News Editor is mainly within two categories. Their position requires the creation of a school-wide key club newsletter. This consists of a monthly articles and visuals page with 3 events corresponding to the month in question. The articles and visuals can be distributed among the class representatives to write about their experiences, but it is highly encouraged to have members write about their experiences. The newsletter should be written by the News Editor to summarize what the club did for the entirety of the year each month, but it can include funny comments relating to the club.
Representative
Current Reps- Shannon Magee & Erica Ascencio
As sophomore rep, I usually help all the other officers with anything they need assistance with. My other jobs consist of advertising the club to possible new members in my sophomore class and writing articles and visuals for events. I enjoy my position a lot so far, and am excited to recruit new members this upcoming school year. I am glad I am able to participate in key club as more than just a member now as well. I would like to think I’m a valuable member of the club. I participate in events, advertise our club to others, provide new ideas, and am currently working on putting together a new volunteer opportunity for our club.
